Pastoral Message
Dear Parishioners:
The month of March allows us the spiritual gift of Holy Lent embarking upon our Orthodox Church Services of the Divine Liturgies, Pre-Sanctified Liturgies and the Salutations to the Virgin Mary. The Sacrament of Holy Confession is available to all for the cleansing of one’s soul and heart. Forgiving others who sin against you, outreaching to God’s people by means of assisting the needy and down trodden...Godly acts of charity are a blessing especially during the Lenten Period. Abstain from gossip, vain talk and yes...the abundance of food and entertainment.
At the end of the month we will embark upon the GREAT and SACRED PILGRIMAGE of HOLY WEEK and PASCHA. In solemn hymn and prayer we await the miracle of joy in His Sacred Resurrection. The NEW LIGHT of Christ...of Hope...of Love...of Abounding Devotion. Let us all gather in anticipation of the Great Feast in prayer, fasting and contrition. We also need to gather in Community Prayer as we assemble at our Holy Week Church Services every night of this Blessed Week.
In April, let our voices rejoice in the great hymn of CHRISTOS ANESTE-CHRIST IS RISEN! Let our hearts and souls be exalted in love and joy. The opportunity is again before us...take hold of His Joy and faithfully uphold His Church and Teachings.
